Tangipahoa Professional Women’s Organization has officially announced details for the 2020 Women Mean Business Conference. In light of COVID-19, the organization was not able to host the primary fundraiser for the scholarship fund during the highly anticipated March 2020 Women Mean Business Conference as planned.
Since then, members have been hard at work planning a new type of conference and coming up with other avenues to raise money for scholarship applicants. TPW has decided to host a virtual conference on Thursday, October 22nd.
Admission will be free, but participants are asked to make a donation for scholarship recipients, who will be featured during a special presentation. In addition, those who log on will be eligible to receive giveaways and bid for several goody bag prizes from local businesses. Live polls will be enacted throughout the conference to engage participants throughout.
Two guest speakers will be highlighted: Elizabeth McCormick, the Former U.S. Army Black Hawk Helicopter Pilot, now turned professional motivational speaker, whose session ‘First Lead Yourself,’ will dive into the importance of self-improvement, progress, and leadership. Mia Perez, Chief Administrative Officer at Louisiana Federal Credit Union’s session,‘5 Lessons Learned On a Monday,’ will detail her takeaways from an extensive career in branding, marketing, and organizational development.
KSLU, Southeastern Louisiana University’s Award-Winning college radio station will be live streaming the event. More details about how to view and connect to the conference stream will be released at a later date.
