Tangipahoa Professional Women – Scholarship Applications Being Accepted Now

The Tangipahoa Professional Women’s Organization (TPW) is now accepting applications for 2017 scholarship recipients. The annual Women Mean Business Conference funds the scholarships.

This will be the fifth year the organization will award scholarships. Any female resident of the parish entering higher education or currently enrolled at a university, college, vocational school or technical college is welcome to apply.

TPW is proud of fostering connections between professionals and students who have been inspired to pursue their professional and academic goals.

April 15 is the deadline to submit completed applications for the 2017 scholarship. For details concerning the TPW scholarship and to download the application,

“Last year, $16,000 was awarded to sixteen local students,” said Shantel Johnson, TPW president-elect and current scholarship chair. “March 23rd is the date of our conference, Women Mean Business, and all sponsorships collected will go towards the scholarship fund.”

TPW was developed in 2007 to foster communication with and support in business. It later established the scholarship fund, which has contributed more than $40,000 to the educational and professional pursuits of Tangipahoa Parish women.
