Dozens of women filled the Event Center LaMaison Celebrazione in Hammond with laughter, congratulations and words of encouragement at the Tangipahoa Professional Women’s spring luncheon Wednesday, where 15 people got scholarships to further their education.

Nichole Liuzza, president of the organization, said the luncheon brings women together from a range of careers including health care professionals, business owners and elected officials.

“Networking has always been something I’m passionate about,” Luizza said. “So getting to put all of these women in a room together to uplift each other and make connections is an honor.”

After the women filed through the buffet line and sat down with their meals, KeAndra Anderson, president elect and scholarship committee chair, announced the names of the scholarship winners.

The 15 women who won $1,000 awards toward their education are:

Jena Anderson, marketing student at Southeastern Louisiana Universty
