TPW Scholarship 2023
The Tangipahoa Professional Women’s Organization held their 2023 Scholarship Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, May 24, at Oak Knoll Country Club, where 33 scholarships were awarded to deserving Tangipahoa Parish women who are pursuing higher education and advancement in the workforce.
Tiffany Chavers-Edwards, 1st vice president, programs, opened the awards ceremony. She announced that she has co-chaired the Women Mean Business Conference, along with her co-chair, Tanya Nel, for the past two years, with the 2023 conference being the largest conference to date, both in attendance and sponsorships.
Chavers-Edwards said, “Whether you bought a ticket to attend, volunteered your time on a committee, assisted in the set-up, your company or organization sponsored the conference or you donated or purchased a silent auction item, you were part of making this year’s conference a huge success. Because of the generosity of our Tangipahoa Parish Community, we were able to raise almost $40,000, which allowed us to award $33,000 in scholarships to women in and from Tangipahoa Parish who are seeking educational opportunities.”
